The Ayahuasca Recipe Guide video above provides an ayahuasca cooking process that it claims will take between five and ten hours to complete. This time frame does not include the fact that between Step 6 and Step 7, the recipe requires you to leave the liquids in a refrigerator overnight.
So, if you decide to follow the process in this video, you will need at least two days to complete the preparation of the recipe before you have a drinkable ayahuasca brew.
This video guide requires four ingredients:
- White Vinegar
- Distilled Water, one gallon
- 50 grams of Ayahuasca Vine (Banisteriopsi Caapii)
- 15 grams of Mimosa Hostilis Root Bark (Jurema)
Additionally, following the Ayahuasca Recipe Guide video, you will need to also have available these items:
- Sieve
- Four Stainless Steel Pots
- A kitchen
The video then goes on to provide a brief overview of the qualities of the Ayahuasca vine as an MAO inhibitor and DMT–why?
DMT is not active orally without a MAO inhibitor.
At minute marker 4:45 the video guide begins to explain The 8 Steps for Preparing Your Brew utilizing the ingredients and items listed above.
We have not tested the preparation shown in this video and cannot vouch for it to work; hence, don’t waste your time trying to use this recipe to make ayahuasca. From our experience in the Amazon, we have never seen an authentic ayahuasca brew prepared in this way–especially the steps in this guide requiring refrigeration.
It’s an outlandish idea that an authentic ayahuasca preparation would require refrigeration because ayahuasca has been prepared in the Amazon for thousands of years and over that period of time, refrigeration wasn’t available–not to mention, the need for white vinegar and distilled water.
Moreover, around minute 7:42 of this video, in the tips it says:
“Be thankful for the experience, no matter what happens. There are always lessons to be learned, whether it ‘works’ or not, whether, you have a ‘good’ trip or a ‘bad’ one.”–Ayahuasca Recipe Guide video
Basically, the recipe’s creator is saying–hey buy some questionable ingredients from the link in this video and then spend at least two days preparing a potentially dangerous concoction that may or may not work; then, no matter what happens–even if you just wasted money, time, and/or had a terribly bad trip, you will have learned a lesson.
Ummm… that is some stupid logic. Our conclusion: do not waste your time, money and hopes with this recipe.

The Ayahuasca Recipe Organization cautions against unsupervised preparation and use of ayahuasca outside the shamanic or religious context. Respect ayahuasca. Furthermore, because of the unpredictability of the ayahuasca experience, it is highly recommended that everyone new to the ayahuasca realm educate themselves as much as possible via free resources online and, for an even more in depth understandings, locate books at a public library or order them online–you can find a list of recommended ayahuasca books by clicking here.
